TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE FOUNDATIONS

Bring the health benefits and stress release benefits of the ancient art of authentic Thai Bodywork home. Our school offers an in-person 25 hours + home study instruction program that incorporates various ancient healing styles such as Chiang Mai style, Bangkok style, Royal style and other traditional styles that are available throughout Thailand. Moreover, we teach numerous Thai Bodywork techniques including mild overuse symptom treatment, relaxation, acupressure points, and Siam yoga massage stretches.

Our primary focus is on training students to become professionals and open their own dynamic and safe bodyworks studios or work within relaxation bodyworks centers. Whenever students learn a technique in Thai bodywork training, the teacher will first perform it on them so that they get a “sense” feeling, which will help them to practice in the “right” way.

You have a choice of traditional On-Floor (Thai style) or Table Top (more demanded in western/global spas, studios, and resorts).

THAI BODYWORK BASIC TRAINING

We teach foundational stretches that almost anyone can do in the 4 primary positions, and our popular bonus component.

1. Back-lying (supine).

2. Side-lying.

3. Stomach-lying (prone).

4. Sitting position.

5. Mindfully setting the space for a purposeful and memorable client session.

You will also discover the traditional acupressure points on the energy (“Sen”) lines and stretching. These techniques assist release of muscular tension, improve the blood circulation, boost the immune system, balance the energies of the body, increase the flexibility, mobility and prevention of common injuries. We provide you all the theoretical support needed (manual with graphics and note books are given in classes).

With this certificate, you will learn how to give a basic full body Thai bodywork session lasting at least 60 minutes on either the floor (traditional) or table top (western).

HOW TO GET YOUR L1 CERTIFICATION

1. Currently we are only offering the L1 Thai Massage Therapist Certification Course as a private or semi-private, 25 hour program. Semi-private means that if you have a partner who wishes to take the course with you, you may register together at a reduced price.

2. Currently we are offering the course in 3 hour blocks twice a week. Mondays 10am - 1pm, and Thursdays 10am - 1pm. There will be some light homework given between classes. Based on this schedule and testing schedule, your certification course will take 5 weeks. *Optional times on these days may be available, but optional days are currently not available. 3. At the end of your 25 practical hours there will be a 30 minute practice practical test, followed by a 60 minute practical test, where you will be required to perform a complete 60 minute Thai massage on an individual (you must bring a person along).

Important note: After the complete course and passing the practical test you will receive 2 certificates; certificate if excellence signed by kru Wikanda at time of passing, and your master certificate from our mother school in Bangkok will be sent to you via post within 30 days.

Complete Foundational Level 1 Program Details

25 hours in total broken into 3-hour private classes twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
Expect roughly 20 hours to dedicate to home study, readings, and skill practice.
Includes our Foundations Course Guide & Workbook.
Upon passing practical exams you will receive 2 hard copy certificates. One from Thai Yoga School Of Canada, and one from Thai Yoga & Healing Arts Training Center in Bangkok.
